Laurent Bernard's Black Forest is the German classic seen through a French pastry chef's eyes: three layers of moist dark chocolate sponge soaked in cherry brandy, two layers of Griottine cherries and soft whipped cream, finished with a generous crown of chocolate shards and cherries.
It is a cake made for gathering round the table – a birthday with candles and a message on top, a Mother's Day lunch, or simply a weekend that deserves a centrepiece. Choose the 14 cm cake for six to eight guests, or the 20 cm for eight to twelve.
Prefer it without alcohol? Simply select 'without liquor' when you order. Every cake comes with a cake knife, and you can add numbered candles, a birthday tag or a bottle of champagne to complete the moment.

One of the best cake shop and owner I have ever come across. I had mixed up delivery dates for my wifes birthday and informed the owner last minute (around 7 PM) to prepon the delivery by a day . The owner was patient and helpful enough to help me with other better cake . The cake was one the best I ever had and more importantly ,the owners kindness helped me save the day. Best black forest cake I've ever had. Chocolate sponge cake very moist and soft, cream smooth and extremely light. Absolutely love the flavour of the groittine cherries. I'll be back for more.
Finally I found a delicious non-alcoholic black forest cake! Elsewhere, some tasted more like chocolate cake or had too little cherries to be considered as black forest. This has a balance of fresh whipped cream and chocolate cake.
